I had so many people comment on last's month's Corner Scraps on
'Casing', that I decided to expand a bit on the topic this month, and
talk about the second level of 'casing' - making your own paper based
on something you see!
Here's a pic that I saw in the January issue of 'Scrapbook Trends' (LOVE that magazine!) - check out the designer paper they used:
Ok - so I thought to myself - I could TOTALLY do this, using my SU! supplies. And so, here's my layout, with my homemade paper:
The colours are washed out - not sure why - imagine it a bit warmer, but anyway, here's how I did it:
1) I used a basic background cardstock colour to 'work from'.
2) Using a darker shade (in this case, really rust), I sponged the areas I wanted to have shadows and definition - this didn't show up so well in the photo, so just pretend. :)
3) I stamped butterflies, stamping off first on some of them to get different shades of the same colour.
Easy peezy! Now you!
